My Story
During the 2020 Covid Lockdown I started to explore the idea of making my own floats, more so to relieve the boredom than anything else, but also as a cost cutting exercise.

After some rather shockingly bad first attempts, I began to explore different materials, designs, techniques and finally created a float that was usable. (Note here that I say 'usable', it was not in any way pretty or desirable!)
When lockdown finally lifted and we were allowed to wet a line, I took my float to a local lake to try it out. It worked! Several fish were caught, and it was a very satisfying feeling.
After a considerable amount of research, learning and practice, I began to improve the quality of the floats and the consistency of batches. I began giving sets of floats to friends and family, I was even asked to make a set or two as gifts!
At one point, a friend suggested that I sell my floats on ebay. I was a little reluctant at first due to my own personal doubts and lack of confidence in my design and quality. There are some amazing float makers out there producing high end products with incredible features and detailing. I wasn't sure I could compete.
I made my first sale in October 2021. I was honestly a little shocked and humbled that someone thought my floats were good enough to buy. And the rest, as they say, is history.
The floats I make may not be as highly detailed or use as fine materials as some of my fellow float makers, but what I pride myself in is a high quality float at a reasonable price.
I continue to learn new techniques, find new materials and develop new skills, and I am always willing to accept hints, tips and advice to continue my learning.
